This piece is part of the exhibition Innovative Threads: Contemporary Weaving on at the Alberta Craft Gallery - Calgary from January 25 to April 12, 2025. 

"For some time, my practice has used abstraction to defy representation and easy reading. I am interested in what happens when a text or image is difficult to read, or when we “see through” or “fail to see” and recognize certain aspects of difference, whether they are actually visible (and to whom) or not. Navigating my own queer- and transness over two decades of political change, I’m even more convinced it cannot be entirely understood or legitimized through representation and public visibility. I also draw from experiences of working in the HIV/AIDS response and passing of loved ones that have challenged my beliefs on the body and dying. What is felt or sensed but not seen, not entirely visible, is overlaid with multiple layers."

If you are not entirely satisfied with your Craft artwork, Alberta Craft will gladly exchange or issue a gift card for your purchase. Please present your till receipt or gift receipt with the item within 30 days of original purchase. Only exchanges with receipts or gift receipts with be honored.
All exchanges must be returned unused in their original purchase condition, with the original packing material, and any other item or accessory provided by the artist. In the event that a returned craftwork has items missing, is damaged or broken, or if the item has become broken due to misuse or as a result of adapting it for something outside of its intended use, the exchange may be refused.
If you find that you received your purchase damaged, please contact us immediately. If the error is ours, we will gladly exchange the product for you or provide a credit for any future purchase. Special orders and custom-made items cannot be exchanged or returned. Deposits on special orders and custom-made items cannot be exchanged or refunded.
